This image was taken from what was probably the western flank of the Lancastrian line. The vantage point is from the 'great hedge', which still exists, and provides a boundary to the south side of the battlefield.

In the centre of the picture it is possible to see the rooftop of a house, along with the tree line. This gives an indication of the steepness of the valley through which Hempmill brook runs, and why it was so difficult for the Lancastrians to cross whilst arrows rained down on them.
